Family visit
I finally get to post something about my sister coming to see me. I'm sooooo excited. I've known about it for weeks and had to keep it a secret. My brother in law bought her a ticket for the first week in January. It was a Christmas present, but I feel it was a Christmas present for me too. I already have a dinner reservation made, and am looking at tickets for "The Lion King". We are going to have fun. I haven't seen her in 9 months. This is why I didn't get sad this year about getting older. Everyday I had a count down of when she was going to call me and tell me about her gift. Can you tell I'm pumped up?!

Charlie is not my friend!
For a brief moment I forgot how much pregnancy charlie horses hurt. I had my first one with this pregnancy 2 nights ago. I'm always amazed how it catapults you out of a dead sleep, and you pray to make it stop fast. Mine goes something like this. I scream bloody murder(calling for Jerry) and start rolling around, until Jerry can straighten my leg out to relieve the cramp. Then after a few minutes, which feels like eternity, we go back to sleep. All the joys of carrying a bambino!

Holiday Mail for Heroes is back!
In this season of hope and giving the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes, Inc. have joined forces to invite Americans to “send a touch of home” to United States service members and veterans across the country and abroad. In its third year, the Holiday Mail for Heroes program is an opportunity to share joy and thanks with our service members throughout the holiday season by way of a greeting card.
Today over 1.4 million men and women serve in the U.S. armed forces and over 24 million veterans have served in the past. The holiday season is the perfect time to honor and extend a warm holiday greeting to those who’ve served and continue to do so.
Take a look at what people are saying about the program:
How Holiday Mail works
We have established an extensive process to ensure all cards sent to our service members are safe and arrive in time for the holidays. Holiday cards will be collected through a unique P.O. Box address from Monday, November 2 through Monday, December 7*.
First, cards from across the nation must be sent to this address:
Holiday Mail for Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456
Every card received will be screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes and distributed to participating Red Cross chapters nationwide. Once the cards arrive at the Red Cross chapters, they are sorted and reviewed by volunteers who then distribute them to service members, their families and veterans in communities across the country.
"The program has already generated a tremendous response in our community and this is our first year participating. Everyone who hears about Holiday Mail wants to be involved because it gives us all the chance to seek out service men and women and veterans and tell them just how special they are and how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice."
- Tammy, Smith County Red Cross Chapter Tyler, Texas
Please don’t forget to follow these guidelines while preparing your holiday greetings!
Do...
Sign all cards
Entitle cards “Dear Service Member, Family or Veteran”
Limit cards to 15 per person or 50 for school class or business group
Bundle groups of cards in single, large envelopes
Don’t...
Send letters
Include personal information such as home or email addresses
Use glitter – excessive amounts can aggravate health issues of wounded recipients
Include inserts of any kind as they must be removed in the screening process

Halloween
Jerry and I went as gang bangers! My story was I got jumped into the gang 5 months ago. HAHA!! We couldn't get our original idea to work. He was going to be a hillbilly and I his pregnant bride. I couldn't find overalls at Savers, still pretty good for last minute. Isabel was a monkey. The banana was sewn into the pocket, but she kept trying to pull it out.

Anniversary
Today is our 10 yr anniversary! I feel like it's flown by, but then I feel like it's been a life time together(not in a bad way). It's amazing to look back at all things we've done together, how much be both have grown over the years. So many changes, a lot of moves in multiple states, careers, school(a lot of that too), children. I know I wouldn't change anything, good or bad. Life is a huge classroom. We learn from our life experiences. I've learned a lot, and look forward to learning more. I'm excited for the next 10!

Boy or Girl?
That is the question. What are we having? Well they are 95% sure that it's a ...... I can't decide whether we should say or wait for the other ultra sound with confirmation. My next ultra sound is on Nov. 3rd. Well I guess if they change their minds then we will just have to tell everybody they were wrong. It was pretty clear we were looking at a hamburger or as Jerry says a Big Mac. If you have kids(and remember that reference) or are in the medical field then it should be obvious at this point, if not then I will say think Pink!!!!!!

Baby
Monday we are going to do a free 3D ultra-sound, and find out the sex of the baby. As long as the baby cooperates we should be able to see. If it's questionable then we will have to wait until Nov 3rd for confirmation. Wish us luck!

Funny Bel!
This was Isabel's idea at the grocery store a week ago. It cracks me up! Even though the video is short, she did this for about 2 aisles. By the way, it was cinnamon.

Karma
So I had the most amazing experience at CVS last night. Most of you know I shop by using the "grocery game" rules. In doing that I have saved a HUGE amount of money. I usually pay no more than $2 for a pack of diapers. Last night takes the cake. I don't think I could beat it. I'm always friendly to the staff even the mean ones. I had $26 in ECB's(that's free CVS money) and coupons to use . I'm pretty stocked on Isabel's diapers(plus I see potty training in the future). So, I thought it would be a great time to get a head start on diapers for the next baby. I bought Huggies snugglers newborn, and size 1. It was a total of 120 diapers. I used my coupons and ECB's thinking I should pay about $1 plus tax, so roughly $3. I was small talking with the clerk and she said"what else do you got there"? , as I was tearing off other coupons that had just printed. They were for random things like lotion etc. It was nothing I was buying. I started reading them off, and saying it's nothing I have. She grabbed them and just starting scanning all of them. Then she says " you are negative $2.30". I looked confused, and she said "you need to buy something else". Then it dawned on me what she had done. So I ran and grabbed some hand soap. Then she said your total is....wait for it........3 cents. That's exactly why you should be nice to the clerks. I didn't even pay the tax on my stuff. What a deal! I love CVS!!!!

Trip
I know this is premature, but I can't believe we are going to leave town for a day. Except for funerals,(and 1 trip to salt lake city with out the family) we have not left Vegas in 2 yrs. I almost forgot we did take her to Lake Havasu for the day. It was last summer &, was extremely hot. So once for her and Jerry and twice for me in 2 yrs. Still not a lot of away time. I need a break and I'm sure Jerry could use one. In a few weeks we are going to take Isabel to Utah to a corn maze/pumpkin patch. They have a petting zoo etc. We've taken her down town to do things, but haven't really went any where else. It stinks not working and being on a budget. Jerry and I use to go go go. If the trip goes well we will look at going to California or Arizona soon. Since our DVD system was stolen out of the car, I'm praying she will be a good girl for the ride.

Baby News
I'm so ecstatic that we are only having 1 baby. I was so worried. This last month was so physically rough on me and I had to eat so much just so I didn't get sick. I'm feeling better, mostly because I switched my prenatal vitamins. Today was a good day. The baby was kicking a lot on the ultrasound and the heartbeat sounded good. Now just 2 more months to find out the sex. I do however, because of age, have been flagged as high risk. Everything should be fine, but in the meantime I have to have at least one 2 hour appt with the high risk doctors. This should be fun. It is a little funny that my referral paperwork said "elderly" on it today. I get told I look 27 all the time, but I guess that doesn't matter. LOL! The neighbor kid said it looked like we were having a "teddy bear". It's funny, because it really does look like a teddy bear.

Breakfast
We went for a Birthday breakfast early this morning (Jerry's Birthday). I love this little place, it's so close to home. Where else can you get 3 meals and 2 beverages for $8.54!?! The fact that it's good food is a bonus. When we move I will surely miss that. It was gorgeous this morning too, perfect weather. Now I need a nap.

Feeding the Homeless
A few weeks ago a small group got together at my house and we made 200 sack lunches for the homeless people living on the streets of down town Las Vegas. It was a great experience. It was also very depressing to see tent after tent of homeless people. After we assembled the lunches we drove down town and walked along the streets handing them out. Once the food was just about gone, then we delivered the last 20 or so to the homeless veterans shelter near by. When we got to the shelter we were told "thank God you didn't get caught". Apparently it is a $300 fine to feed the homeless, compliments of Mayor Goodman. I'm glad we didn't get in trouble for doing something good to those in need. Plus I would have felt very guilty for having the bright idea.

Update on us
I'm just so excited to know Jerry is more than half way done with school. It has gone fast! Trust me that's not a complaint. I'm thankful it has. Jerry's busy studying for his boards. He takes the first of three next month. The second portion will be next summer/fall. He would have started his rotations yesterday, but took this month off. They take a month vacation both 3rd and 4th year. Usually it's not a vacation, because they are studying for their boards. So he's pretty much done with the classroom portion and will concentrate on seeing patients until he graduates. Isabel is getting so big. Her vocabulary grows everyday. I sing amazing grace to her at nap time. This week she has been trying to sing it with me. It's so cute, b/c she says half the words. She's a great girl! So all is well here, and we hope the same for all of you.

Tan Lines
This picture is funny. It was the summer of 2005. We were camping in these cabins at Jelly Stone Park. I love the tan lines on all the boys, especially on Jerry. They had been roofing all summer. Plus, I love that cart/bike thing they rented. The guys were so funny. They were trying to pedal it up the hill. It looked easier than it was. They had tons of other people watching them from their own cabins and laughing. Doesn't that thing look like fun?! Good Times, Good Times!!

Trip down memory lane!
It's hard to believe this is was this time last year. I didn't have a blog then to post it. I've been going through some past photos, and I really like this one. This is Jerry with his sister and brother(he has 2 more sisters and 2 more brothers). They came for Isabel's first birthday. He has such a nice looking family!
Christmas
I know Christmas was a few months ago, but I found these pictures of Isabel playing with her buddy Landon. She loves him. She calls him neno. I think b/c it sounds like Lando to her. Which is what his mom and dad call him. I thought they were cute. I also loved her dress that day. I think she's trying to put a coaster between his fingers in the first photo.

Shoes
Aren't these so darling?! The pink ones are very girly. The picture doesn't do the yellow ones justice. They have a beautiful patent leather look. A great muted color with a lot of shine. You'll see the yellow ones again soon. I think I'm wearing them to a semi-formal dinner put on my Touro(Jerry's school).

Shopping
I totally splurged on this! I bought an Italian leather purse. The designer is in Italy & only sells in Las Vegas. I don't think the picture does it justice. It's so pretty. It has a vibrant shiny color to it. They have such awesome shopping in Vegas. It will be the one thing I miss If we move away!
