Olympic Swimmer

I was so excited about our shopping, that I forgot to share with everybody that we met one of the Olympic Swimmers. We were in Kenneth Cole and he came in. His name is Cullen Jones. He was on one of the relay teams with Michael Phelps. It was awesome to shake his hand. He's super cute too!

Visitor

So my friend Jen came to see me for the weekend. She came in from Minnesota. We had a good time. She came the same weekend last year, maybe it will be a tradition. We went to the district, the strip and around Henderson.

Phantom of the Opera

Jen and I went to Phantom of the Opera. It was amazing! I would and will go again. We had great seats, we were in the 4Th row from the stage. What a view. I would get those seats again too. We started the night going to Delmonico Steakhouse in the Venetian, then off to the show. The food and service were also wonderful. I had the best scallops I've ever had. I truly had a great time. After the show we played some slots. We were a little bored and didn't know what to do. On our way out, we decided to look at the gondolas. Then we realized we should go shopping instead of going home. It was awesome! We went to Kenneth Cole's, and I bought 2 pairs of shoes and a shawl for $100. Can you believe that. They had shoes marked down 7o% and clothes 50%(off of the lowest price). I still can't believe I got real designer stuff for the price of a knock off. What truly made it awesome was the next store we went into. The sales person in that store asked me If I had Kenneth Cole shoes on!!! I wore one of the pairs out of the store. Wow! Then we each bought an Italian purse. What a day!

Facial

Jen and I decided to stay in on her last night here. So instead of spending tons of money on facials at the salon we made our own. I had found this super easy recipe online, and thought we should try it. I have to say my skin felt awesome afterwards. It felt so good, I want to do this every week! Of coarse it's wonderful to have some one else to give you one, but in a pinch this is the way to go. We also did a hand treatment. We had smooth hands and a smooth face. It was a perfect way to end Jen's mini vacation here.

Welcome 2009!

Well we have already had a busy start to the New Year. We started the New Year with Isabel getting sick in our bed. That was beyond disgusting. Jerry started classes again. Which he enjoyed thoroughly! I'm kidding he had to do his first male and female exams, if you know what I mean. I finally got our wills ready to mail, even though they were filled out months ago. It took forever to get them notarized etc. I'm hosting a "grocery smarts" class tonight. It it a really cool way to save a ton of $$$. It's a website that keeps track of when grocery stores and coupons from the Sunday paper match up. Then you are paying sometimes pennies for things. It really is quite amazing. Then I hosting another stamp class at my house this weekend. I host a party every month and have 4-7 regular people coming . We make cards they take home for a low price of $10. Fun for all! Jerry is getting ready to go to a medical conference in Arizona next week. He will be gone for 5 days. Next month we will continue the craziness , Jerry has blocks and we have family and friends coming to visit. Which will be great to see everybody. So I will close by saying I hope you all had a Happy New Year, and that this year brings you all much success!

Christmas

This year we went to our friend's Paul and Melinda's parents house for Christmas dinner. Melinda's parents actually go to our church, so it was nice to get to know them better. We were invited last minute and it was awesome. Melinda called me the day before and invited me, since it was my birthday and Christmas...that way I didn't have to cook. We had ham, stuffing, corn bread, green beans, potatoes, pumpkin pie, and apple crisp. It was delicious. After dinner and dessert we played a game of Balderdash. We had a great time! In fact, we had such a great time we are getting together for New Years.

Winter Wonderland

Can you believe this is the Las Vegas area?! I got so excited when it started to snow. It makes me feel like I'm home. It's so pretty and peaceful. The last big storm here was in 1979. I'm so glad we lived here during this very rare occurrence. I had to share pictures so people could see this amazing site. We have roughly 3" so far at our house and a few more to come. Now it feels like Christmas!
